Broder Metals Group is a stockholder and distributor of a wide variety of metal bar and specialist forged product. Metal grades worked with include high temperature bolting steels, nickel alloys, stainless, duplex/super duplex, nickel aluminium bronze, and several specialist alloy products for the Oil & Gas, Powergen and Fastener manufacturing industries.
We work hard at understanding and meeting our customer’s needs, both to provide product that meets their specific requirements as well as delivering a fast and efficient quotation-to-despatch service. We have earned a good reputation in the industry and amongst our customers. One reason for the latter is that we have always been willing to find grades, carry out additional testing, modify properties or provide bespoke or special products if a customer so requires.
We are now seeing exciting opportunities to grow our flanges, fittings and bar processing team and want to add another sales professional into that team, principally to concentrate on the bar products side of the business although there will be some cross-over into the more processed product.
The successful candidate will be working in the metals industry, have a wide knowledge and understanding of the grades we are working with, and be able to demonstrate the ability to comprehend metal standards and customer specifications. Ideally the successful candidate will already be in a similar role and looking for a challenge in a company that continues to grow year on year, gives responsibility to shape the future direction of this aspect of our business and which rewards those who take that responsibility. A pro-active approach to sales and the desire to help grow a successful business are character traits we will also be looking for.
This is an important role in a busy and demanding team and salary levels will be commensurate.

International metals stockist Broder Metals Group has added Iceland to its export list after it took an order from a company in the oil, gas and petrochemical industry that is based in Iceland.
Broder Metals Group generally supplies customers with nickel alloys, stainless steel, duplex, super duplex, flanges and fittings to fastener manufacturers supplying the marine, power generation, marine, oil, gas and automotive industries. However, on occasion it gets approached by customers that want a package of bar and other products. With an ethos of always reacting to customer needs wherever possible, Broder Metals Group is happy to respond and provide anything it can itself, as Managing Director Mark Burton explains.
“Now and then we get approached by customers that don’t have a deep knowledge of where to source items such as forgings or specific fasteners, for example those made from high temperature material like Alloy T41 or high tensile steels for specific applications. Broder Metals Group has an extensive network of machinists that we can work with to produce the product that the customer needs. It is our knowledge of the best manufacturers and our ability to provide raw materials in varying grades, sizes and quantities that allows us to work together with the manufacturers to agree a deal that suits all parties. Iceland is a new market for us and is the 42nd country that we have exported to since 2007.”

Broder Metals Group Ltd is delighted to announce that our quality management system has been re-certified to the ISO 9001:2008 quality standard. This follows the tri-annual audit of our quality system, and operating procedures and policies, by TUV UK held at Broder Metals Group Ltd’s premises in Sheffield on 2 May 2014.
Managing Director Mark Burton commented: “With no non-conformances raised, it shows how very seriously everyone at Broder Metals Group Ltd takes Quality. We believe in the governing ethos of the ISO 9001: 2008 standard, and try to incorporate that ethos into everything we do.
The new re-certification continues the run of successful audits since we first successfully applied for our quality management system to be certified at our first attempt in 2005.
Although the new certificate runs through to 2017, I can assure customers and suppliers that, for us, it is not “a piece of paper on a wall” or something bought over the internet, and we will continue to operate our systems as if we were being audited every day.
Finally, I want to thank everyone who helped us achieve the re-certification. Another excuse for even more chocolate with this afternoon’s coffee.”
The new certificate is available by download here or from our home page.

Here at international metals stockist Broder Metals Group we are celebrating our first ever despatch of Alloy T41 to South Africa after it was loaded aboard a ship bound for Johannesburg this week.
Alloy T41 is extensively used for bolting, fasteners and support rods, in turbine, boiler and power plant applications, particularly coal fired power stations throughout the world.
Although Broder Metals Group exports to 40 different countries on six continents, and has shipped into South Africa on many occasions, it has never secured an order from South Africa for Alloy T41 before. South Africa is proving to be a growing market, thanks in the main to an established fastener manufacturing industry.
Mike Andrews is a Director at Broder Metals Group and says the company has seen a definite upturn in demand for Alloy T41 over the last eight months.
“From the product sales point of view, the highlight of the last year has undoubtedly been the demand for our Alloy T41 high temperature bolting steel. We have concentrated on selling it into the UK and world power generation market and in so doing, have sold twice as much as we thought we would. In the past few weeks we have even had to put two urgent orders on to replenish what customers have taken from us! To be sending a substantial order to South Africa for the first time is akin to putting the icing on the cake.”
Broder Metals Group supplies nickel alloys, stainless steel, duplex, super duplex, flanges and fittings to fastener manufacturers supplying the marine, power generation, marine, oil, gas and automotive industries.
The company employs 22 people at its head office in Ecclesfield, Sheffield.
