Alloy C276: Resistant To Corrosion

Jun 5, 2017 | Technical Blogs

We have added to our corrosion resistant stock grades.  So now we stock standard and cold drawn stainless materials, nickel alloys like Alloy 718, Alloy 625, Alloy 825, our copper based alloys (CA104, C63000, C63200, NES833, etc.) and of course our super corrosion resistant MP35N. Apart from these we have Alloy C276, a low carbon nickel-molybdenum-chromium super-alloy, compliant with standards such as ASTM B574, UNS N10276, and Werkstoffe 2.4819.

Alloy C276 is resistant to pitting, stress corrosion cracking, and crevice corrosion in a wide range of chemical environments, particularly in chloride gas, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide solutions.
This material is used in the most severe environments such as chemical and petrochemical processing involving bleach, pollution control, pulp and paper production, industrial and municipal waste treatment, pharmaceutical and food processing equipment, and process plant involved in the recovery of sour natural gas. It is ideal for use in evaporators, heat exchangers, sulphuric acid filters and reactors, and process plant handling acid catalysts.
