We work with the leading Third-party organisations to meet your full witness and review testing requirements under EN 10204 3.2 conditions.
Our partnered organisations include Lloyd’s Register, Lloyds Marine, Bureau Veritas, TUV, and Royal Sun Alliance.
To support upgraded purchasing specifications, above the requirements of the general material manufacturing industry standards, we can perform re-testing of material to bespoke project specifications, including OEM Oil, Gas, Petrochemical, and Aerospace requirements.
Our testing services are available under ISO\IEC 17025 accreditation if required.

Multiple methods of chemical analysis to suit project specific requirement re-test.
Our methods of analysis include: Atomic Absorption (AA), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Gas Chromatography Mass Spectroscopy, Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP), LECO Analysis, Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES), Positive Material Identification (PMI),Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF).
Corrosion testing or additional corrosion testing to comply with specific corrosion test requirements and variations stated in upgraded specifications.
We complete testing in accordance with the ASTM, AMS and MIL standards. We can redefine these tests to meet additional acceptance criteria such as extended time corrosion tests, temperature variants and specific corrosion rate / time reporting. Some of the typical methods commonly used in corrosion testing are Pitting & Crevice (ASTM G48), Intergranular Corrosion (IGC) Testing (ASTM A262, ASTM G28 and G67), Sour Service Corrosion Testing (NACE MR0175/ISO 15156), Hydrogen Embrittlement (HE) Testing to ASTM F591 and Galvanically Introduced Hydrogen Stress Cracking (GHSC) to NACE MR0175/ISO 15156.
All these services are available through Broder Metals Group plus additional, less common, tests.
As some OEM specifications require testing above and beyond the requirements of industry standards, Broder can provide mechanical testing services to meet all standards designed for high integrity applications. These include tensile testing, tensile testing at elevated temperatures, Charpy impact testing from ambient to -196°C, Izod testing, stress rupture, hardness tests to all scales (Rockwell, Brinell, Vickers), Micro hardness and full stud, and bolt and nut testing.
If you require metallurgical evaluation above the specific material grade standard or re-evaluation under EN 10204 3.2 Witness, Broder can provide extensive reporting methods and evaluation to ensure the base material if fully compliant to the specification you require.
Our services include, Micro Examination, Ferrite Count (both standard and 30 field), Grain size Evaluation, Cleanliness Check, Macro Assessment, Decarb, Carb & Alpha Case, Austenite Spacing and Metallographic Investigation.
As the integrity of the material is critical to most applications, Ultrasonic testing (UT) is a general requirement to ensure the base material is free from cracks and defects. Ultrasonic is a non-destructive test method that utilizes sound waves to detect for these defects subsurface in the material.
Due to the wide range of specifications written to perform UT inspection it not viable to certify the base material to all methods at the Mill. In general, only a standard UT test is performed at the Mill to ensure the base material supplied is sound.
As most project specifications require Ultrasonic tests to a specific method and evaluation, Broder can offer full UT service through PCN Level 2 & 3 qualified technicians with most techniques available in house.
Typical standards we test to are AMS, API, ASME, ASTM, BS EN, DIN, IEC, MIL, NAVSEA and NAS.
